Joint tutorials

Import room boundaries, extrude them together, and turn the result into a connected building draft.

Step 1

1. Import the room boundaries

Open Import in the top-right → DXF (drawing). Upload a DXF containing room boundaries only—not a complete floor plan or construction drawing.
You can also press Use tutorial DXF to load four clean, closed room boundaries.

Confirm the drawing unit and make sure every room boundary is closed before importing.

Step 2

2. Extrude every room at once

Imported objects stay selected. If they are not visible, type Zoom Selected in the command line.
Then press Extrude/Push and type the floor height. One command raises every closed profile together.

Step 3

3. Make the volumes Rooms

Drag a selection box around the new volumes. In the right panel, change Building Role to Room.
The batch role action applies to every selected volume, so Joint derives their walls, slabs, roofs and shared boundaries as one connected draft.

Step 4

4. Continue with your project

The draft is now ordinary Joint geometry. Add or reshape a roof, move a room, add openings and furniture, or switch to a drawing view. Continue in whichever direction your project needs.
