What double-click does

Handy later, easy to hit by accident now.

Step 1

A blue frame means you went in

Double-click an object and a blue frame appears around the viewport. You stepped inside that object — from here your edits go to its parts, not to the scene.

Step 2

Press Esc to come back out

That is useful once you are shaping things, but it is easy to trigger by accident. If the frame shows up while you are following a tutorial, press Esc, or double-click empty space — the frame goes away and you are back outside.
